Perth was ranked the 6th most liveable cities in the world this year and awarded a top 10 placing in the hottest destinations for travelers to visit in Australia.

And if that wasn’t enough to boast about one little known fact about Perth is that it is known as the ‘city of lights’. Back in 1962 when astronaut John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth, was in space the city of Perth was clearly visible because of it’s street lighting earning Perth the title. From then on Perth became known worldwide as the ‘City of Lights’.

Perth is blessed with regions East, West and South that visitors to our great state can spoil themselves with experiences that you can only get here.

Here are just three must see places to visit whilst visiting Western Australia.

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island sits 18km’s offshore from Fremantle our port city and is a protected nature reserve, it's home to the quokka, a small wallaby-like marsupial. The only place in the world you can find quokkas in their wild habitat and being known as the happiest animal on earth they are easily found on the island and are happy to take the famous selfie with you just ask Roger Federer, Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth, Shawn Mendes or Hugh Jackman if you happen to run into them.
