My initial introduction to the hotel industry came by way of a work experience placement in the Concierge Department of the Sheraton Perth Hotel. This gave me a great insight into the operations of a hotel, the focus on the needs of our guests and working as part of the Concierge team. After finishing school in 1992, I was offered a position as a Porter with the Sheraton which I gladly accepted as I already knew I wanted to make my career in this industry.

 In 1995 I was promoted to Bell Captain, a position I held for 12 years. During this time, I developed a passion for assisting and auctioning guest needs by ensuring every request was met professionally and confidentially to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction.
 

In 2007, I took on the challenge of stepping up to the Head Concierge role at the Sheraton Perth Hotel. My aim is to foster and contribute more innovative ideas to streamline communication within the departments and incorporate teamwork by collating up to date information for guest use, and encouraging team members to set and achieve goals. I am proud to work alongside the positive team members in the department, who possess excellent professionalism in their fields and continually strive to give the best customer service. I feel support and encouragement amongst the team members in the department is the vital key to guest satisfaction.

With the support of my property and my team behind me, I was privileged to be chosen as the AHA WA Concierge of the Year in 2008.
