The Concierge profession is never boring and in fact is quite completely the opposite as not a day is the same with a multitude of simple to outrageous requests which we all deal with a smile, never a dull moment.
Little did I know that working as a Concierge would require me to be a psychologist, marriage counsellor, personal shopper, babysitter a security officer and a genie all rolled into one. Being accepted into Les Clefs d’Or is the highest honour a Concierge could ever receive and it was in 2006 when I received my golden keys.
In 2009 I was privileged to be a part of the pre-opening and opening team of Grand Hyatt Macau where I gained a vast knowledge and experience working and leading a team in a different environment with cultural divergence.
In 2010, I joined the newly reopened and rebranded Mira Hong Kong wherein l pioneered the creation of a new service culture, delivering brand promise and the establishment of operating standards to help drive the hotel towards ultimately being named the only Design Hotel in Hong Kong.
Currently at the Star Gold Coast, I embark on another journey, this time under a completely different working dynamics. Merged and oversaw the integration of two properties, The Darling and the Star Grand Concierge team and, initiated and established a new working culture to ensure our guests receive service of global standards.
Confucius said “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” and that I am glad I did.”
